That which satan meant for evil

Some twenty years later the roles were reversed, Joseph as the strong one and his brothers the weak ones. They came to him in dread. They feared he would settle the score and throw them into a pit of his own making. And in his explanation we find his inspiration. As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good in order to bring about this present result, to preserve many people alive.

You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives. But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive. Joseph tied himself to the pillar of this promise and held on for dear life. Nothing in his story glosses over the presence of evil. Quite the contrary. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. And God saw that the light was good.

And God separated the light from the darkness. God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, the first day. And the great dragon was thrown down, that ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world—he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.

Anyone whom you forgive, I also forgive. Indeed, what I have forgiven, if I have forgiven anything, has been for your sake in the presence of Christ, so that we would not be outwitted by Satan; for we are not ignorant of his designs. And let the one who has no sword sell his cloak and buy one.

And God sent me before you to preserve for you a remnant on earth, and to keep alive for you many survivors. Then I saw thrones, and seated on them were those to whom the authority to judge was committed. Also I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus and for the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands.

They came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. And the beast was captured, and with it the false prophet who in its presence had done the signs by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped its image. These two were thrown alive into the lake of fire that burns with sulfur. The ox knows its owner, and the donkey its master's crib, but Israel does not know, my people do not understand.

They have forsaken the Lord , they have despised the Holy One of Israel, they are utterly estranged. Why will you still be struck down? Why will you continue to rebel? The whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint. For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. God then used Joseph to save the nation of Israel as he provided food for his father, Jacob, and his eleven brothers — the heads of what would eventually be the twelve tribes of Israel. What Satan meant for evil, God turned for good. Practical Application — Trust God.
